Malene hat mir empfohlen zur Cockroach Cove zu fahren, einem sehr netten Strand mit einer Höhle und einem Blow Hole (so eine Art Geysir nur ganz anders ;)) und das hab ich dann auch gemacht. Ich bin in den Bus gestiegen und musste erstmal eine Stunde fahren. Dann bin ich 20min am Strand spazieren gegangen um dann einen der schönsten Strände zu sehen, den ich je gesehen habe.

Umzäunt von Kliffen und türkisem Wasser, wenige Touristen und eine kleine Höle zum erkunden. Wunderschön. Ich konnte sogar ganz nah an das Blow Hole.

Ich hab zwei deutsche Mädels kennengelernt, Sandra und Meike, mit denen ich danach noch an den Strand von Waikiki bin. Sandra kommt morgen auch mit zum North Shore und dort werd ich schnorcheln und cliff jumping machen und lauter tolle Sachen. Nur leider muss ich dafür früh aufstehen.

Today I went to the cockroach cove. It's a very lovely beach with cliffs and deep blue water and a little cove and a blow hole. It was just super cool and not that touristy. I took a swim and lay in the sun and relaxed and went really near the blow hole.

After I had enough of exploring and swimming I went back to the Waikiki beach where I chilled with the two girls I met today, Sandra and Meike from Germany.

Tomorrow I'll go to the North Shore, snorkeling, cliff jumping and all the other great things. I have to go up early, though.

Oh man, erstmal find ichs total krass, dass ich schon 40 Tage unterwegs bin und quasi die Hälfte der Zeit schon hinter mir hab, weil ich ja spätestens am 19. Juni wieder daheim sein muss. Also hab ich ziemlich bald Halbzeit.

Ich hab heute die meiste Zeit am Strand von Waikiki verbracht. Das war nicht besonders spannend, aber es hatte so richtig Urlaubsfeeling. Außerdem war ich im international Market und beim Lebensmitteleinkaufen. Das war schweineteuer :( Ich bin wieder im Polynesian Hostel und die haben viele Veranstaltungen, deswegen hab ich einen Ausflug zum North Shore für Donnerstag gebucht und evtl will ich auch noch Kayaking fahren am Freitag, mal gucken.

Heute abend geh ich noch mit einer Australierin weg, von der ich leider den Namen vergessen habe. Die ist leider nur noch bis morgen da, aber wir haben einfach heute einen schönen Tag.

Meine weiteren Pläne für die Reise sind noch nicht so ganz ausgereift. Ich überlege ungefähr bis Sonntag oder Montag oder so hier in Hawaii zu bleiben und dann für zwei oder drei Tage wieder nach SF zu fahren (ja ich liebe diese Stadt halt und es ist flugpreislich fast günstiger) und dann nach Hong Kong zu reisen, wenn ich dort schnell n Visum bekomme erstmal dort zu bleiben, dann eventuell weiter nach Südkorea und dann nach Israel um dann zurück nach Europa zu fliegen und zwar nach Amsterdam und von Amsterdam über Belgien, Luxembourg und (wenn mich Marion aufnimmt) Frankreich nach Hause zu fahren. Mit Mitfahrgelegenheiten oder so. Das wär richtig cool. Ist halt nur die Frage ob ich mir das leisten kann. Haha.

Today I spent most of the time on the beach, acutally. In Waikiki. It was really nice and real vacation feeling. I went to the international Market, too, and bought some nice earrings.

Wednesday I'll go with the hostel to the North Shore and tomorrow I think I'll go by bus to the Cockroach Cave and take a hike there. Maybe I'll stay at the hostel a little longer and do a kayaking tour on Thursday.

My plans for the rest of the travel are to go back to SF for two or three days (well... I love the city) and than to Hong Kong. I don't have a Visa for China so if I don't get one in Hong Kong fast (you don't need a visa for HK when you're a citizen of the EU) I stay in Hong Kong for a while and than travel to South Korea, to Israel and than fly back to Europe and stay in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and maybe go to Lille to visit Marion and than go back home to Ingolstadt.

If I have the time.. and the money.. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I'll see how much money I spent on the credit card.. If it's too much I just have to go back a little earlier and skip South Korea.

Tonight I'll go out with a girl from Australia, I met her at the hostel and we planned to do a pub crawl, but there is no tonight so we'll just go out. She's leaving tomorrow, but I think we might still have a great time today.

Ich hab jetzt schon ziemlich lang nicht mehr in meinem Blog geschrieben, aber keine Angst, ich lebe noch.
Zuallerersteinmal: Wir haben den Weltrekord leider nicht gebrochen :( Aber toll wars trotzdem:

Am Freitag sind Moses, Sarah und ich ganz früh aufgestanden um uns den Sonnenaufgang am Strand anzugucken. Das war sehr sehr schön und Moses und Sarah haben dazu Ukulele gespielt. Nach dem Frühstück im Cinnamons sind wir drei dann zu Moses Onkel, der im Hospiz ist, und haben für ihn gesungen. Anschließend hab ich mir eine Ukulele gekauft, eine Kala Sopran Ukulele die wunderschööööön aussieht. Endlich wieder eine Ukulele zu haben fühlt sich großartig an.

Nach dem Ukulelekauf haben wir dann Pizza gegessen und sind dann kurz an den Strand gefahren. Dort konnten wir aber nicht so lange bleiben, da wir uns mit den anderen Ukuleleclubmitgliedern treffen mussten, mit denen Moses und Sarah auftreten wollten.

Lorelynn (oder wie auch immer man sie schreibt) ist mit ihrem Bruder Bob und ihrer Schwägerin gekommen und zusammen sind wir in ein Restaurant essen gegangen, in dem Moses Cousin aufgetreten ist. Das war sehr sehr schön. Am Samstag sind wir dann zuerst an den Strand gefahren und haben den ganzen Vormittag am Strand verbracht. Richtiges chilliges Urlaubsfeeling. Danach mussten wir gleich schon zu unserem Auftritt, denn Moses und Sarah haben mich überredet mit aufzutreten. Wir sind also so um halb vier dort aufgetreten und jetzt kann ich von mir ungelogen behaupten ich war mal Vorband von Jake Shimabokuro. Haha.

Die Ukuelekünstler, die aufgetreten sind, waren alle sehr sehr gut und als es dann darauf ankam haben wir alle ganz gespannt (und zum Teil als Special Effekt im Dunkeln) Ukulele gespielt, aber leider waren gut 250 Leute zu wenig da. Jake ist trotzdem noch aufgetreten und auch viele andere Leute, wie der Typ von Ukulele Underground. Außerdem hab ich ein Foto mit Sarah, Jake und mir ergattern können und meine Ukulele von Jake signieren lassen.

Abends sind Sarah, Moses und ich dann noch auf den international Market gegangen, so eine Art Basar um Blumenhaarschmuck für die Hochzeit von Sarahs Schwester zu kaufen. Die gabs aber leider nicht mehr, weswegen wir dann einfach in der Stadt ein bisschen Musik miteinander gemacht haben. Wir haben sogar sieben Euro bekommen, haha.

Heute mussten wir uns dann leider von Sarah verabschieden (schon wieder sau früh aufstehen!) und Moses und ich sind zu einem Basar am Aloha Stadion gefahren, wo ich mir ein LavaLava und für meinen Cousin Fabian ein Hawaii Hemd gekauft habe.

Danach sind wir wieder an den Strand, dort hab ich aber im Allgemeinen nur gepennt, weil ich sooooo müde war vom wenig schlafen.

Anschließend sind wir zu einer echten hawaiianischen Jam-Session gegangen, wo wir alle (Moses, Lorelynn und ich) mit ganz vielen anderen Ukulele-Gitarre-Banjo und Wasweisichspielern gejammt haben. Das war auch sehr sehr lustig.

Danach sind Moses und ich zu der Geburtstagsfeier von Moses Schwester gefahren und gerade eben nach Hause gekommen. Ich werd wohl ins Bett fallen und schlafen. Ab morgen werd ich nämlich wieder im Polynesian Hostel bleiben und ich weiß ja nicht wie viel Schlaf ich dort bekomme.

I haven't written anything in a long time, but important things first: We didn't break the record :( But I bought an ukulele and Jake Shimbakuro signed it!!

On Friday, we went up really early to see the sunset, than we went to see Moses uncle Joseph, who is in a hospice, and than I bough a brand new Kala Soprano Ukulele. I named her Hana Hou, the Hawaiian phrase for "encore".
After I bought my ne ukulele we met with the other Clubmember of Moses' Ukuleleclub, Lorelynn, and her brother and sister in law. We practiced a bit to play the songs we're gonna perform at the world record attempt and than we went to see Moses Cousin perform at a restaurant.

On Saturday we went up early to go to the beach and spent the whole day swimming, relaxing and playing. Around noon we had to go to the arena where the world record should take place and we performed there and saw great musicians there, like Jake himself or the Ukulele Underground guy. Eventhough we didn't break the record I had a great time. I acutally got a picutre with Jake and Sarah and me and he signed my Ukulele. (He's really cute in real life, wow!!)

Today we had to say goodbye to Sarah so we brought her to the airport and than Moses and I went to get an Aloha Shirt for my cousin and a Lava Lava for me.
After that we went to the beach again, where I mostly slept, and than to an Hawaiian Jamsession with lots of other ukulele players and guitarists and banjo players and played ukulele for three hours.

Around five we went to Moses' sister Trudy's birthdayparty and had dinner at Ruby Tuesday. Now we're finally back at the hotel and I'll probably just go to sleep now.

Heute als ich aufgestanden bin hatte ich erstmal nicht so gute Laune und ziemlich Heimweh, sowohl nach SF als auch nach meinem richtigen zu Hause, aber weil das Heimweh einen ja nicht weiter bringt bin ich dann erstmal in den Zoo von Honululu und hab mir dort sehr sehr süße Tiere angesehen. Weil Sarah ja erst um 13:30uhr angekommen ist. Danach hab ich mich, bis mir Moses eine SMS geschrieben hat, an den Strand gelesen und gechillt.

Mit Moses (der ja ein echter Hawaiianer ist) und Sarah hab ich mich dann in dem Hotel getroffen wo wir schlafen werden (und da wir in Moses Zimmer schlafen müssen wir nichtmal was dafür bezahlen :-O). Moses hat mir angeboten dort zu bleiben bis er fährt, also bis Montag. Irre, was für ich ein Glück ich habe. Das ist das Hale Koa und das wahrscheinlich BESTE Hotel das ich jemals gesehen hab. Soooo toll. Schon allein der RIESIGE Garten des Hotels ist irre und die Aussicht direkt auf den Strand. Wahnsinn. Wir waren dann heute noch bei dem Luau, das ist ein typisches hawaiianisches Fest und das war einfach großartig. Zuerst bekommt man eine Muschelkette und einen Mai Tai und kann sich umsehen wo einem gezeigt wird wie man Blumenketten macht (und man kann auch selber welche machen), wie man mit hawaiianischen Bällen tanzt oder Kokusnussblätter flechtet. Außerdem ist eine Band aufgetreten und wir haben gesehen wie jemand einen Kokusnussbaum hochklettert.

Danach gab es essen (soo lecker hawaiianisches Essen. Jammi) und danach noch Hulatänze aus allen polynesischen Ländern. Das war richtig richtig toll. Anschließend sind wir noch an den Strand und haben unsere Füße im Ozean gebadet.

Jetzt sitzen wir im Hotelzimmer, Moses spielt Ukulele und wir werden wohl gleich ins Bett gehen, weil wir morgen ja früh aufstehen müssen für den Sonnenaufgang am Strand.

Today I have been to the Zoo of Honululu while waiting for Sarah and Moses to arrive. It was really nice and I could pet some goats and a llama. Soooo cute.

After that I went to the beach and relaxed a little until Moses texted me. He's a native Hawaiian and sooooo nice. I met with him and Sarah at the Hotel where we're going to stay (he offered me to stay with him until Monday. AWESOME!!!) and it's the best hotel I ever have been to. The hotel grounds, the beach, everything is just great.

When we met we played a little on the ukulele and than we had to go to the Luau which was just amazing. We learned how to make or own flower boquets, how to bring coconut leafs to use, we listened to a band playing Hawaiian music, we had great dinner, great live dances of native Polynesian dances and free Mai Tai. Haha. It was really lovely and the food was so good. Except for the Poi, maybe ;)

Tomorrow we're going to go up at about four thirty so we will go to bed early but right now Moses is playing songs on the ukulele and we just enjoy listening to it.

Nur kurze Durchsage: Ich lebe noch und hab den Flug gut überstanden. Hier in Hawaii ists genau 12h früher als bei euch, also ists grad 20Uhr.

Ich hab schon Malene getroffen und morgen treff ich endlich Sarah. Leider hab ich jetzt schon "heimweh" nach San Francisco, aber mir gehts gut.

I arrived in Honululu and had a quite boring day. The film on the flight was really really bad (Sherlock Holmes) and I basically slept the whole flight. I'm already a little homesick for San Francisco (hihi), but I'm really looking forward to see Sarah again.

So, der Tag an dem ich San Francisco verlassen "muss" ist gekommen. Ich fliege nach Hawaii, was ja irre cool ist, aber trotzdem bin ich irgendwie ganz schön traurig. In jeder Stadt und in jedem Land, in das ich reise findet man durch Couchsurfing so schnell neue Bekannte und Freunde. Und ich muss sie nach zwei Wochen immer verlassen.

Gott sei Dank treffe ich mich mit Malene und Sarah. Juhuu. Das ist so cool, dass die auch nach Hawaii reisen :) Moses hat mir sogar angeboten, dass ich eventuell auch auf der Eröffnungsfeier für den Weltrekord auftrete, aber ich weiß nicht ob ich da nicht viel zu aufgeregt bin, dann.

Ich sitze jetzt gerade am Flughafen in Oakland und warte auf meinen Flug nach LA. In kurzer Zeit ist Boarding Time und dann flieg ich erstma 1h nach LA um dann circa 6h nach Hawaii zu fliegen. YAY.

Gestern waren wir noch in dieser biergartenähnlichen Bar "Zeitgeist", Jeff, Marc (der CSler aus den Niederlanden), eine Freundin von Marc, Charles und ich. Die Bar hatte ungefähr jedes deutsche Bier, das man sich vorstellen kann. Sogar Kölsch :D Und die Österreicher waren mit ihrem Stiegl auch vertreten :D Aber ich hab lieber San Francisconisches Bier getrunken.

Finally the time arrived to say goodbye to my San Francisco Friends. I'm really sad that I have to leave, but still.. Hawaii... There's nothing else to say.

Yesterday we have been to Zeitgeist with Jeff, Marc (CS from the Netherlands), Marcs friend from Australia and Charles. It was really cool and had some real German beergarden feeling. I really liked it and I shared a pitcher of SF beer with the other guys. It was quite fun.

So in about 10 Minutes I'll board the plane to LAX and than I'll FINALLY fly to Honululu. See you in about 9 hours ;)

Heute ist mein letzter Tag in San Francisco und ich bin schon wieder traurig, dass ich SF verlassen muss, aufgeregt, dass ich nach Hawai'i fliege und so gar nicht daran interessiert 9 Stunden zu fliegen. Bäh.

Heute war ich ENDLICH auf dem Turm des deYong Museums. Hatte eine tolle Aussicht von da und hab einige Fotos von der Skyline von SF gemacht.

Danach bin ich durch den Golden Gate Park in Richtung Strand gegangen und dann den Coast Trail entlang. Ich wollte eigentlich zum Palace of the Legion of Honor, aber dort bin ich wohl vorbei gelaufen, als ich im Nationalpark spazieren war. Irre Kliffe dort, tolle Aussicht und supertolles Wetter. Das hat ungefähr zwei Stunden gedauert, dort zu wandern und war es aber wirklich wert. Ich hab dann kurz vor dem Ende des Nationalparks noch eine ausgiebige Pause gemacht und mein Buch gelesen. Mit einem irren Blick auf de Golden Gate Bridge und Berge und Wasser und Grün. Das war fast schon surreal.

Heut Abend geh ich noch zu einer Lesung von A.J. Jacobs (der das Buch geschrieben hat, wo er ein Jahr lang nach den Regeln der Bibel lebt und das, wo er die komplette Enzyklopaedia Britannica liest), weil das ist gleich fünf Minuten von hier und kostenlos. Danach gehen wir evtl noch weg. Gestern sind nämlich neue Couchsurfer gekommen. Marc aus Holland und Charles aus Kanada. Ich weiß aber natürlich nicht wie lang die Lesung von A.J. Jacobs dauert. Ich freu mich aber schon sehr.

My last day in SF. I'm really sad that I have to leave but still I'm excited to go to Hawaii. And meet Sarah again. And Malene. I'm really looking forward to that.

I have been to the Golden Gate Park today, once again, and got up the deYong Museum Tower. I had a great view from up there, all over SF. After that I walked to the Beach and than along the Coast Trail. I hiked about 2 or 3 hours around cliffs and an incredible view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The weather was great and I could have hiked for hours, but unfortunetely the National Park part of the Coast Trail isn't that long and I got hungry, so I got back here and had lunch.

In about 1.5 hours I will go to see A.J. Jacobs who is coming to the book store in the Ferry Building. It's free and I'm really looking forward to see him. (He wrote the books "The Know it all" and "The year of living biblically")

Übermorgen gehts ja weiter nach Hawaii und ich bin schon ganz gespannt, auch wenn ich wirklich traurig bin, dass ich SF verlassen muss. Dafür habe ich heute schon einiges geplant, was ich in Hawaii mache.

Ich komme am Mittwoch so gegen 6Uhr an und werde dann erstmal im Polynesian Hostel in Waikiki übernachten. Das ist ein recht günstiges Hostel, denn es kostet nur 23 Dollar pro Nacht. Malene wird da wohl auch sein (die Österreicherin, die ich in SF kennengelernt habe) und deswegen hoffe ich, dass ich sie dort auch treffen kann.

Am Donnerstag kommt dann Sarah wieder zurück nach Honululu und ich treffe mich dort mit ihr und ihrem Ukulelespielclubmitglied Moses und wir gehen auf ein Luau. Das kostet zwar 50 Dollar aber das ist angeblich superbillig für ein Luau und man muss auf Hawaii mal auf einem gewesen sein, sagt Moses, und der ist ein Hawaiianer. Freitag stehen wir dann irre früh auf (gähn) und gucken uns den Sonnenaufgang an und spielen Ukulele. Was dann Freitag noch genau geplant ist wissen wir noch nicht, aber ich kann vielleicht von Donnerstag bis Samstag bei ihnen im Hotelzimmer schlafen, was wirklich superklasse wäre. Wenn nicht ist das Polynesian Hostel ja nicht so teuer und das Hostel das mir Sarah empfohlen hat wäre auch noch bezahlbar.

Samstag ist dann auf jeden Fall der Ukuleleweltrekordversuch und Sarah tritt außerdem mit ihrem Ukuleleensemble auf. Darauf freue ich mich schon tierisch, v.a. weil ich Sitze in der ersten Reihe bekomme, weil ich mit Sarah hingehe. Hihihi :D

Heute werde ich auf jeden Fall ENDLICH mal wieder in einem richtigen Bett schlafen, juhuu, das Couchsurfing auf der Couch war nämlich leider nicht so richtig erholsam.

Today I made plans for what to do in Hawaii. I'll arrive Wednesday around 6 pm and stay at the Polynesian Hostel where I hope to meet Malene, the girl from Austria I met in SF. On Thursday I'll definitely meet Sarah who'll arrive in Honululu and the two of us together with one of Sarah's friends (Moses) are going to attend a Luau. Yay.

Friday we'll get up really early and watch the sunrise and play Ukulele and have a great time. On Saturday is the big Ukulele Ensemble World Record Try and I'll DEFINITELY go there. Sarah's going to perform there with her Ukulele ensemble and I've got front row seats cause I'll be there with Sarah. Great!!

So I really look forward to go to Hawaii eventhough I'm still really sad that I have to leave SF. But I was sad to leave Iceland, too, and SF turned out to be just as great.

Gestern war Samstag und somit Jeffs freier Tag, weswegen Jeff, Jonathan, Michael und ich uns in der Haight Street getroffen haben um einen Kaffee zu trinken. Danach sind wir nochmal in den Golden Gate Park und haben es uns in der Sonne gutgehen lassen. Danach sind wir zum Alamo Square und haben uns diese berühmten Häuser angeguckt, in Jeffs Lieblingscafe und abends sind wir alle zusammen erst in der Mission essen gegangen und dann in verschiedene Bars was trinken. Sehr geiler Tag in SF.

Heute ist es sehr nebelig um die Golden Gate Bridge herum, was sehr typisch für SF ist. Wahrscheinlich gehen wir heute noch zum Strand, ich muss aber zugeben, dass mir die Hitze ein wenig zu schaffen macht und ich ein bisschen träge bin, irgendwie.

Ich hab außerdem Sarah und Malene geschrieben, weil die ja zur gleichen Zeit auf Hawaii sind wie ich und hoffe, dass es klappt mit dem Treffen.

Yesterday was quite a relaxing day in SF. Saturday is Jeffs day off so we (Jeff, Michael, Jonathan and I) met at Haight and had a coffee together, than went to Golden Gate Park, to Alamo Square, to Jeffs favourite cafe and at night we went out at the Mission for some Burritos with Jonathans friend Sophia and afterwards we went to some bars to drink and chat.

It was a really nice and relaxing day, eventhough I got a sunburn and I am quite tired due to the hot sun. But I still love SF and I'm really sad that I have to leave for Hawaii. But I'm sure Hawaii will be great as I will meet Sarah again and hopefully Malene, too.
