Tag 25: Neuer Couchsurfer
Ich hab mich nun leider von David verabschieden müssen und hab mir einen neuen Couchsurfer gesucht. Er heißt Jeff und ja.. sieht verdammt gut aus. Wohnt gleich in der Nähe des Ferry Buildings und hat eine Wohnung mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Badezimmern im 13. Stock. Das ist aber nicht seine Wohnung, sondern sie wird von seiner Arbeit bezahlt. Cool hier zu wohnen ists natürlich trotzdem. Er wird hier für 30 Tage wohnen und dann wieder nach Boston zurück gehen, wo er abwechselnd mit SF wohnt.
Der Trip gestern nach Alcatraz war wirklich cool. Ich hab mir die ganze Insel angeguckt bis mir die Füße weh getan haben. Wetter war hervorragend und die Audiotour durch Alcatraz war seeeehr interessant. Ich bin außerdem zum ungefähr tausendsten mal Cable Car gefahren, aber mit diesem 27-Dollar-7-Tages-Ticket lohnt sich das auf jeden Fall.
Nachdem ich mich heute von allen verabschieded habe (Cathy und Erin fahren heute nach Vancouver, Ethan fährt per Anhalter nach Eureka) und bei Jeff eingezogen bin, bin ich erstmal einkaufen gegangen und hab dann geduscht. In einer Superduperluxusdusche.
Danach bin ich erst zur Bay Bridge gefahren und von dort mit den ganzen Baseballfans in Richtung AT&T Stadium der SF Giants gegangen. Ich hatte natürlich keine Karte, aber das Stadion von außen ansehen und die coole Atmosphäre genießen hat sich auch gelohnt.
Danach bin ich in die Castro Street gefahren, SFs Schwulenviertel. Das war auch sehr nett und ich war zum ersten mal in meinem Leben in einem Comic Book Store. Als ich dann zurück zur Ubahn wollte kam ein splitternackter solariumgebräunter Mann auf mich zu. Ich glaube er hat Schuhe getragen, würde aber nicht darauf schwören.
Nach der Castro Street bin ich jetzt erstmal wieder hier her gefahren um mir durchzulesen, was Eugene alles noch so für Vorschläge gemacht hat, was man in SF unbedingt sehen muss. Sie hat noch vorgeschlagen zum Ferry Building zu den Farmer Markets zu gehen und das werd ich wohl auch machen. Aber erstmal wird gekocht und gegessen.

The trip to Alcatraz yesterday was GREAT. I can highly recommend to go there. Weather was great, the tour was great and the feeling you have when you are at this place is really cool, too.
Today I had to say goodbye to all the couchsurfers I met at David's place. I stay at Jeff's place tonight until Wednesday, when I'm going to leave SF for Berkeley. He has a HUGE apartement for himself for the next thirty days right next to the Ferry Building on the 13th floor. His flat has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a HUGE shower. I took a very long one, because it is great not to be in a hurry when you go up in the morning.
When I finished showering and shopping for grocerys I went to the Bay Bridge and walked from there with all the Giants Fans (there's a game today, right now!) to the Giants Stadium. I dind't have a ticket, but I still like the feeling before big sports games.
After that I went to Castro Street, the famous gay street in SF. I went to a Comic Book Store there, the first time of my live. During my walk along along Castro I met a guy who was totally ABSOLUTELY naked and nobody cared. I really enjoyed the free spirit feeling there, eventhough I found it hard not to laugh when I saw that naked guy on the streets.
Now I'll get something to eat and afterwards I think I go to the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building. On Wednesday I'll leave SF and go to Berkeley and afterwards I will be heading to L.A. On the last Saturday of April there is a Ukulele meeting where they'll try to break the world record for the biggest Ukulele ensemble. Maybe I'll go to Hawaii a little bit earlier.
